Guardsman Storage, a family-owned and operated business since 1984, has recently expanded its facility with a major extension, adding a new climate-controlled wine storage building to their operation.
Located at Myaree in southern Perth, just off the busy Leach Highway, Guardsman Storage offers high visibility to thousands of commuters each week. The facility is strategically positioned near several complementary businesses, such as a service station in front of the facility and neighbouring a homemaker’s centre, making it a convenient and accessible option for customers.
The project was a step into the future, looking at the demands of new customers. The location of the extension meant that Guardsman Self Storage faced logistical challenges during construction. Narrow driveways, a single point of access from the highway, and managing high occupancy rates during construction all had to be managed by Guardsman’s management.
Storage fit out
The internal fit out of this extension was completed by Storco. The process, which took four weeks, saw the construction of two levels and over 100 new climate-controlled wine storage units. This expansion brings the total number of storage units at Guardsman Storage to an impressive 663, increasing the facility’s capacity to serve a growing clientele.
The new facility’s storage fit out caters to wine storage needs, with the majority of storage units being 3×3m, perfect for storing cases of wine. In addition to these larger units, there are smaller 3×2m and 2×1.5m units to cater to various storage needs. Fitted out with Storco’s Gloss White roller doors with the Series 1000 Locker in Poppy Red ties the design of the new building back to the old facility. This modern extension has certainly become a standout feature of this longstanding facility, offering a blend of functionality and convenience.
